This diet regimen is also known as the master cleanse or lemon diet. This detoxifying diet helps a person feel more refreshed and energized. It also helps reduce waste and toxins within the body.

You will need 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, 2 tablespoons of organic lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons of grade B maple syrup with an 8 oz of room temperature water. You have to consume a total of 64 oz of the mixture in addition to a cup of laxative tea. The tea promotes cleansing of the intestines and further detoxifies the body.

Duration

The diet should be religiously followed for ten days; however, most people find it hard to sustain this kind of diet. Most would experience stomach pains, which is why some would opt to take cayenne pepper capsules instead. If you think you can do it for more than ten days, then you can do so as you wish.

You can get many benefits from this diet. This diet regimen helps flush away built-up toxins and waste from the body. This makes you feel refreshed and energized as a result. Since the diet consists of more water, many use the detox to help them drop five to ten pounds in just a short time. The only problem with this diet, is that weight loss is just temporary. Once you take in food after this detox program, you will gain additional pounds from the food that you eat.

This diet can be very beneficial for some. But most could not tolerate this kind of diet as they feel weak and uncomfortable with only liquids as their intake for ten days. In fact, this diet lowers your caloric intake to 600 or 1200 calories per day.
