A lot of us today are having fun in watching the birds in our garden. Every year, people pay out dollars to draw birds into their garden plots since the experience is fascinating. So, if you want to have a bird feeder pole into your backyard, you could either build one or buy one for yourself. Provided here are some instructions on how to build an efficient, simple bird feeder pole into your backyard.
1. Arrange all the materials such as 0.75-inch-thick cedar wood board, 7-foot-long cedar wood pole, nails, hammer, marker pen, saw, and measuring tape you will be needing for your project.
2. Choose a location in your backyard to build up the bird feeder. Always see to it to build it at least 10 inches away from a tree. This will keep off the squirrels from jumping on the pole.
3. Make a platform. Draw a rectangular shape with a measurement of 12 x 18 inches on the wooden board.
4. Cut the rectangle using the saw. Do not throw away the cut-out wood because you would need it to build other parts of your bird feeder.
5. Draw the two rectangles on the wooden board that measures 0.5 x 12 inches each. Once done, cut it.
6. Check if the platform’s width are the same with the length of the two rectangles you just cut. On the opposite ends the platform, place the two pieces of woods that you cut. Nail them on the platform.
7. Again, draw two rectangles on the boar with a measurement of 0.5 by 18 each, then after that cut it evenly.
8. Again place it on the opposite side of the platforms’ ends and attach it with nails. The platform must be entirely covered by the four wood pieces, outlining the closed area of the platforms center.
9. Sharpen the pole’s end with a saw. Try to hammer the end of the pole into the ground, at least one foot below it. Make sure that the bird feeder pole stands firmly.
10. Place the platform on the pole; make sure that the pole’s center is on the platform’s center. After locating the center, nail the platform on the pole. Since there are loosened soil in the ground because of the nailing done with the platform, stamp the ground for the soil to become firm.
Now, you have now an idea on how to make your own bird feeder pole. Now, you can have all the time watching the birds perching on your homemade bird feeder pole.
