I really love making wine.
If you had asked me a year ago if I would ever think about setting up my own winery in my basement I would have laughed you all the way out of my house. Me? Nah, never, I don’t know anything about wine, and I’m not one of those people who is ‘good with their hands’.
But I do love wine. And after reading a few articles in magazines, looking up some answers on the internet, and shopping for the right home wine making kit, I realized that it was time I tried out wine making for myself.
That wasn’t long after I started blogging at www.winestainedfeet.com, and maybe it was my new found obsession with vino that pushed me into mastering the craft. I’m not really sure. But I learned that making wine at home is simple, it isn’t always easy, but if you follow the instructions and keep an open mind, you can learn to be brewing your own wine in no time.
I even wrote up a lengthy instructional guide on home wine making for beginners at Wine Stained Feet. Not only can you save money by brewing wine at home but you will find that you can make a higher quality of wine. Bottling wine yourself gives you the opportunity to make fantastic gifts for friends and family – nothing is more unique than serving up a bottle of wine that you made all by yourself. Packaged in a unique bottle with your very own design (this turned out to be a lot less expensive than I had initially assumed).
Making wine at home is not hard, it isn’t expensive either. And, as you will find out, it gives you the opportunity to brew the absolute best vino without leaving your house. I’m not ‘good with my hands’, but I make some pretty amazing wine.
