Leveling as Rogue in WoW

October 11, 2011

I just decided to write up this small introduction on my view on leveling as a Rogue in World of Warcraft, since it is a game I have been playing for a while now and figured some of you might like to hear what I have to say about it. Before I go into that though I promised my friend I would plug her blog, so you can check that out here Rogue Leveling Article

Anyway, on to the leveling as a rogue. First of all I would say congratulations on choosing rogue as the class to level (Assuming you have in fact done that.) Rogues are awesome, I love their fast paced melee combat and there is nothing more fun in World of Warcraft in my opinion to sneak up on an unsuspecting Horde and kill them before they know what happened. Some call me a ganker, but I call myself a hero of the Alliance.

Anyway, back to the actual leveling. I personally prefer a leveling guide, zygor being my preference, but it is not at all needed, just a lot more effective. Then you need to choose your build. The first rogue I leveled was as subtlety, and I did level it at a decent pace, but I did it more for the PvP aspect. If you want to level up as fast as possible i would definitely recommend either going Combat or Assassination, as they have a higher damage output, since subtlety relies on being behind the enemy target. They also get additional benefits such as Assassination gets faster runspeed, which is amazing for leveling.

I would probably personally recommend combat if you want to level as fast as possible, purely for the fact that it has Bladeflurry. Bladeflurry lets you kill 2 targets the time it normally takes to kill one, so it is a huge boost to your damage dealing while leveling.

If you want a more in depth and detailed guide on how to level as fast as possible as a rogue though, I suggest you check out this awesome page which has all you need : Rogue Leveling Guide.
