Make Your Own Birthday Cards!

Have you got a friend’s Birthday coming up and are thinking of creating your own Birthday Card for them? This is a great idea! There is nothing like receiving a handmade card and knowing that someone has taken the time and effort to make something specially for you.

Of course there are a lot of beautiful handmade cards that you can buy at markets that are lovely but when you make your very own card there is something very special about that.

Do you need some ideas on where to start when making your own Birthday card? Not a problem!

A great place to start is with a photo of you together. Glue this onto a blank card with a little note about all the great times you have shared together and all the memories you are going to make in the future. Personal and always fun for a laugh if you have some funny memories about this person.

Another thing you could do is look up some Birthday Quotes such as “You’re not getting older, you’re getting better!” Write this on the front of the blank card, decorate with some stickers and you have a card that they will treasure.

Collage is another great way to make handmade Birthday cards. Get together all your materials, glue, cardboard, stickers, paints, glitter and get creative! Put together a card with all the favorite colors of the birthday boy or girl or maybe you can add some ribbon if they like delicate items like that.

You can add pictures of things that will interest them to the card. Do they want to travel to Paris? Add a photo of the Eiffel Tower and a note about how you wish them all they dream of. Are they dreaming of owning a Porsche? Cut a picture of one out, stick it on the card and say “I would buy you everything you dreamed of if I could”. This little gestures will show just how much you know and care about the recipient.

Ultimately what’s really important is that you have taken the time to make something yourself for someone you care about. Enjoy and let yourself be creative. They will love it!
