The English rock band, The Beatles, that popularized British rock and roll is one of the most well-known and historical groups of all time. It stayed in the top spot for 11 straight weeks before it got bumped to number two by the Rolling Stones’ “Let It Bleed.” After a week though, “Abbey Road” went to number 1 again and stayed there for another six weeks; thus, completing 17 weeks as number 1. In the US, it debuted at number 178 and then it quickly moved to the number 4 spot. Three weeks after its release in the US, the album went to number 1 and was at the top for 11 weeks. It spent more than a hundred weeks in the Billboard 200 and the album was recognized by NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandisers) as one of 1969′s top selling albums. Furthermore, it was given a 12x platinum certification by RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). Indeed, the album was a great financial success, and the album also contains some of the most popular songs of all time, which is a great feat for any musician. This album serves as a legacy to all who love rock & roll.
