MLB games this year is predicted to be one of the fiercest competition yet, maybe even rivaling last year’s aggressively exciting plays. Since this next season’s competitions are starting out, you might be wondering what most of them are doing right now. Well, get your major league baseball cap on and sink your teeth into these:
New York Yankees
Cliff Lee. That name has gotten the New York Yankee’s hopes of snagging this star since the start of last year’s season. However the offseason resulted in leaving them empty handed, with their rivals Boston, gaining the upper hand while they suffer the loss. But the Yankees aren’t one to give up, allowing Mariano Rivera for 2 more years and investing their Cliff Lee money to Rafael Soriano under a conditional contract. It’s good to know that the management has done a great job at cutting their losses and going for possible candidates like Pedro Feliciano, which they managed to snatch away from the Mets, securing a left field specialist.
Texas Rangers
The rangers had a spectacular climb to the World Series last year, taking advantage of Cliff Lee in their roster back in July. However, Lee is no longer with them and they’re challenged at playing with their already glistening team.
There had been going ons in the infield for this year’s initial rotation. some particularly interesting; like Adrian Beltre signing up for a 5 year contract which has had a monstrous streak of great plays notably a breadwinner for Red Sox and Mariners.
Boston Red Sox
Adrian Beltre’s off the radar for them, having been snatched by the Texas Rangers this season but they’ve replaced him with Adrian Gonzalez. In a display of complete faith in Gonzales they’ve afforded him in the position that let Kevin Youkilis move across to third base, giving him a more accustomed space to showcase his talent. It’s also worthy to note that they’ve lost 1,000 days to the disabled list. Provided that they don’t have any injured players to come, they’ll be one of the more well-balanced teams out there with a great defensive and offensive lineup.
Outlook
It seems that these major teams have all felt the categorical effect of end-contracts and minor yet drastic changes on these teams. But they say that change is good to keep the pace; which might mean that some teams will turn the tides come at the beginning of the season while some might eventually stagger deeper than they usually do. Everybody’s scrambling for the real big guns and showing their brightest plays. To add few to the fire, some teams might even end up facing their former mates this time around.
