Save Money: Use Insulation Rebates

November 15, 2011

We all wish we had more money. Having more money means we can be more comfortable, we can go on more vacations, and we can have more toys. There are a lot of ways we can have more money, we can work more (which no one wants to do), we can create a budget and spend less. But a great and simple way to have more money is to save energy. Saving energy will cut back your utility bills and make it so you do not have to work more or budget your money as much. Saving energy is becoming more and more popular theses days. Not only can it save you money but it will also help save the environment.

The government is currently offering incentives for us to save money, by conserving energy. Most major forms of energy savings have some sort of government backed rebate or tax incentive. Many local gas and electric companies also offer supple rebates. Depending on where in the country you live, a large portion of your energy saving efforts may be subsidized.

The easiest and most cost efficient form of energy saving is the current insulation retrofit programs. Through these programs you can save heaps of cash and have to spend little to none to do so. In many parts of the country the incentives will save you %50 to 100%.
Across most of the country homes have been built with insufficient insulation. Most states building code only requires an R- value of 38, which is way below the recommended insulation depth of the United States Department on Energy. The United states Department of energy recommends a an R-value of between R-50 and R-60. Almost double of what is found in most homes! Take advantage of your local Insulation rebates, and start having more money in your pocket! Look online or contact your local utility companies.
