The best choice for most struggling addicts and alcoholics is to ask for help and get checked into some sort of detox center. This can be a traditional recovery center or a religious organization, it does not really matter much. The fact is that alcohol detox can be rather dangerous and in fact it can kill you outright if you are not careful, so you should accept the help if you can get it, regardless of the source.
Some treatment centers are Christian based and can help you to deal with the symptoms of alcoholism. And, some of these are set up to be very cheap or even free for people to attend, so take advantage of this help if it is offered to you. You may not be extremely religious, or you may have a conflicting issue with the religion in question, but you cannot argue with a helping hand if you are desperate. Put aside your differences and accept the help for what it is. Your gratitude will come back full circle if you manage to stay clean and sober and start a new life for yourself, and it will not matter much if you were practicing the “wrong” faith at the time or not. Recovery is good, period.
There are some Christian alcohol treatment centers that do necessarily have any participation with a 12 step program. Some individual with an alcohol addiction are snobbish and refuse to attend such a place, thinking that they 12 step program is their real salvation. If that is the case, then find your own alcohol detox and simply go attend meetings. Most people need more help than that in early recovery, however, and if that comes from a religious standpoint, then so be it. Getting the help you need is much more important than the source of that help, especially if your life is on the line due to a deadly illness such as addiction.
Good luck
